I have been working as a Psychologist treating mental health difficulties in organisations and community settings for 20 years. I have worked with a range of complex areas of mental health including working with offenders, people diagnosed with personality difficulties and also many years of work with people with learning disabilities. My work has focused on helping people to understand and make sense of areas of their life that they are struggling with and how we can work to make things feel less difficult. I specialise in the areas of adult mental health, trauma and psychological work associated with Occupational Health services, which includes workplace stress and helping employers to understand how to help employees who are struggling. My work as an expert witness also enables me to provide expert reports for court in cases where further understanding is required from a psychological perspective.
About Penny Hayler

Work in the community
I enjoy working with the local community and I’m happy to offer time and expertise to community or charity projects in the East Midlands area. I currently work with a local women’s organisation that supports people affected by domestic abuse and offer expertise on service development.
I also offer corporate sponsorship to Derby QUAD and support QUAD’s programme of outreach work, which helps transform the lives of young and old people, the disadvantaged and those in hard to reach communities. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss support for any community work in the East Midlands area.
Penny Hayler Psychology Ltd works in collaboration with Nottingham Trent University, both with the Alumni and Industry Fellowship Programme and to support final year students in the application of psychology to local industry. Students work with problems from local employers and look at how psychology can be used to support by reviewing academic literature and offering solutions. Recent scenarios set by Penny Hayler Psychology Ltd have included:
